GRINDING

Grinding is a process of finishing used to improve the surface texture of hard metals of relatively high tolerance values. Flat, cylindrical and angular surfaces can be ground by removing a certain amount of metal from the surface. It is a general abrasion process through a grinding wheel or belt to remove material to a desired dimension.

  • In feed grinding to prepare studs, bolts and other fasteners for thread rolling
  • Thru-feed grinding for shafts or bars up to 24ft lengths. Grinding to restricted tolerances for precise pitch diameters for threaded bar.
  • Surface defects and decarburized layer is removed to insure defect free material
