We encourage our customers to place orders as soon as possible to allow time to source material and manufacture your parts. Here’s why:
Raw Material Availability: In the final quarter of 2021 some material types became more difficult to source, though mostly limited to the more exotic type materials. However, in early 2022, even common materials like 300 Series stainless steel and 4140 Alloys are becoming harder to source as distributors deal with low supply and extended mill lead times.
Raw Material Costs: Less supply and steady demand have led to increased costs across nearly all material types.
Extended Lead Times: There are extended lead times in both producing steel and throughout the manufacturing process. Many of our partner vendors have seen lead times more than double over the last year.
